Did you expect Google not to enter this market? If you did, maybe your expectations need to be realigned! Google jumped into the Cloud Storage market with a bang – Google Drive.
Google Drive competes with existing cloud-storage services like Dropbox, Amazon Cloud Drive, Apple iCloud, Box, Microsoft SkyDrive, SafeSync, and SugarSync in this rapidly growing market segment.
These services allow users to drop files into a special folder on a computer or mobile device and have that same file, whether it is a picture, a video, a note, a PDF or just about anything, instantly accessible from nearly any Internet-enabled device — a desktop, tablet, or smartphone.
Google Drive has a clear advantage over other services in that it is integrated with other Google products. “Drive is built to work seamlessly with your overall Google experience,” wrote Google’s senior vice president for Chrome and apps, Sundar Pichai, on Google’s Official Blog.
